Course Objectives

Upon completing this LEVEL4 Process Safety Management (PSM) Certification Course Successfully, participants will be able to:

• Understand how a PSM system can help your organisation manage its process safety risks
• Discover how an effective PSM program can identify, evaluate, prevent, or mitigate chemical hazards caused by process inadequacies

• Learn how to identify process safety and major accident hazards in your organisations and plants, and how to assess the risks involved and define critical controls to prevent hazards
• Become aware of the conceptions of static and dynamic barrier management
• Learn how barrier management can be used to analyse process safety and perform root cause incident investigations

• Obtain hands-on experience with PSM tools by drawing bowtie diagrams, etc
• Learn the attributes of different types of barriers: hardware (plant), human (people), and organisational (process) Who can Attend Even through this is a technical qualification there is no specific entry requirements, but the candidate does require certain knowledge in Health and Safety. It would be highly recommended if the candidates complete Any Level3 Technical Certificate before doing this course

Examination

The Unit is assessed by a 90-minute multiple-choice question paper. There are no practical papers for this course.
