AOSH UK Level 2 Award in Health & Safety at Work Place

Who needs this qualification?

This qualification is intended for anyone in a work environment and ensures that all employees are aware of their own safety and the safety of others that might be affected by their work; furthermore this qualification will assist those who require a better understanding of health and safety within the workplace.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake 10 hours of learning or 2 half-day training sessions (10 hours).

Course overview

Learners will build an understanding key terms and definitions of role & responsibility for health, safety and welfare in workplace.  Understand how risk assessments contribute to health & safety. This qualification is assessed by Multi Choice Questions (MCQ). To Awarded this qualification the Learner must achieve a percentage pass in the MCQ.

Certificate validity

The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is valid for a period of three years.

 

AOSH UK Level 3 Award in Health & Safety at Work Place

 

Who needs this qualification?
This qualification is aimed at those working or wishing to work as a supervisor in health and safety in the workplace. It gives the learner a wide range of skills and knowledge to equip them to confidently undertake health and safety requirements such as risk assessments and deal competently with consequences arising from incidents that may occur.

How long will it take?
To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake 30 hours of learning.

AOSH UK Level 3 Award in Health & Safety at Work Place

Who needs this qualification?
Designed for learners who have a high level responsibility for health and safety practices and procedures in their workplace, implementing risk assessments, developing safe systems of work and cross organisation reviews of health and safety arrangements, This qualification is aimed at learners currently working, or preparing to work, as supervisors and managers with a direct responsibility for health and safety management.

How long will it take?
To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake 40 hours of learning.

These include duties and responsibilities, health and safety policies, developing and implementing risk assessments and safe systems of work and incident investigation.

AOSH UK Level 2 Award in Manual Handling – Principles and Practices

 

Who needs this qualification?
Designed for learners who participate in any level of manual handling in the workplace or in their day to day lives. This qualification covers how to move and handle objects in a safe way and minimise the risk of injury to yourself and others when undertaking manual tasks.

How long will it take?
Delivery would typically be through a 1-day training course or 2 half-day training sessions (10 hours).

Learning Outcome
These include reasons for safe manual handling, risk assessments, manual handling equipment and how to apply safe manual handling principles.

 

AOSH UK Manual Handling Train The Trainer

 

Who needs this qualification?
Designed for learners aiming to develop skills in delivering training sessions in a manual handling context. Consisting of two mandatory units, the first unit develops learners’ knowledge and understanding of the principles and process of safe manual handling and risk assessment. Whereas, the second unit develops learners’ knowledge and skills so that they can prepare, deliver and evaluate a training session.

How long will it take?
Delivery would typically be through a 2-day training course or 4 half-day training sessions (18 hours).

Learning Outcome
This qualification consists of two mandatory units. The first unit develops learner knowledge and understanding of the principles and process of safe manual handling and risk assessment. The second unit develops learner knowledge and skills so that they can prepare, deliver and evaluate a training session.

AOSH UK Level 2 Award in Risk Assessment

 

Who needs this qualification?
The Level 2 Award in Risk Assessment aims to provide supervisors and employees with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the risk assessment process and the skills required to undertake a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.

How long will it take?
Delivery would typically be through a 1-day training course or 2 half-day training sessions (8 hours).

Learning Outcome
These include why risk assessments are necessary, the legal requirements relating to risk assessments and simple processes for carrying out a risk assessment.

 

AOSH UK Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment

Who needs this qualification?
The purpose of the Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment – Principles and Practice is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding of risk assessment and the importance of Health and Safety including risk assessment processes in the workplace. Learners will understand the relationships between hazard and risk as part of an accident and ill health strategy and apply the hierarchy of controls to control risk to an acceptable level.

How long will it take?
To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake 20 hours of learning.

Learning Outcome
These include the importance of health and safety in the workplace, the principles of risk assessment, the relationship between hazard and applying the hierarchy of control to control risk.

AOSH UK Level 2 Award in COSHH

 

Who needs this qualification?
The Level 2 Award in Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH ) Risk Assessment aims to provide supervisors and employees with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the COSHH risk assessment process and the skills required to undertake a suitable and sufficient risk assessment. This includes workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments.

How long will it take?
Delivery would typically be through a 1-day training course or 2 half-day training sessions (9 hours).

Learning Outcome
These include the law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace, how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace and  the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure that risks associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled.

AOSH UK Level 3 Award in Emergency Rescue from Confined Space

Who needs this qualification?
Designed for learners who have prior qualifications or experience working in confined spaces and wish to specialise or demonstrate occupational competence in emergency rescue specifically.

How long will it take?
To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake 16 hours of learning.

Learning Outcome
This qualification is suitable for those already working or for those wishing to prepare to work in confined space. Nature of hazard & risk control, range & function of gases in confined space, SSOW & PTW, selection of PPE.

 

Stress Management

 

Who needs this qualification?
Any employee who works in a potentially stressful environment or who needs to be able to recognise the early signs of stress.

How long will it take?
Three hours.

Training Goal
To focus on techniques for gathering complete, accurate and objective accident data used to arrive at true root causes and determine corrective action. To further examine and analyze data as a means of preventing injuries, property damage and financial losses.

All levels of management, safety practitioners, safety committee members, and individuals responsible for investigating accidents (incidents).
You’ll learn to:

  • Employ effective investigation and interview techniques
